Couer d'Alene 70.3 Race Report

Whew!!! What a season! Four races starting around 8-9 weeks pregnant and ending almost ten weeks later at 19+ weeks it was not how I envisioned my season to go when I planned it out in January of 2019.  All in all I am extremely happy with the race and the day in general. My season ended with a bang at one of my favorite 70.3’s on the circuit, Ironman Couer d’Alene 70.3.  This is my favorite for many reasons; its challenging, its basically a hometown race for me, the run is fast, and the spectators and volunteers are AMAZING making the atmosphere of this race unbelievable for a small town.

6 Tips To Running Faster Off The Bike

Being fast in an Ironman (both 1406. and 70.3 distances) really comes down to who can to who is the one who slows down the least. It is very common that around the late stages of a race all of the sudden the wheels fall off and pace drops. Running off the bike seems so easy, you just run right? So why is it that you as you work through your training all of the sudden it seems like you are getting slower during your running. Race With Heart

In a world full of devices, gadgets, social media, and over exposure to all of our lives it is really easy to get caught up not only in what other people are doing but what you believe that your “data” should be. We’ve become so ingrained in our numbers that if we don’t follow our numbers to a tee we panic and totally derail our day. The only question you really must ask yourself is are you giving 110% in that moment? If you are than no matter what the data says you are doing exactly what you should be doing.

Texas 70.3 Race Recap

Texas 70.3 kicked off the racing season with a bang, complete with terrible swims, strong bikes, and a really fun photo finish!!! Open Water Swim Tips

We have all been there, standing in the funnel of the start line just waiting for our turn to jump into either a lake or ocean churning with white caps and swells, or maybe its a calm day and the water is calmly waiting for the 1500-2500 humans about to churn it up. With that moving forward in 2019 I am going to share a bit more of the journey that started all of this, the journey of an age group triathlete doing everything she can to be great, with you all through monthly recaps regarding my own training.
