Self Love Challenge

Self love is at the least a love of oneself. However, it is more than just loving who you are it is rooted in a respect for your actions, a passion for your journey, a belief in who you are, and a compassion for the little things in your life. Self love is important as it helps to motivate us to make “healthy” choices in our life and those healthy choices being rooted in chasing whatever dreams, passions, or goal you want to go after, nurturing your well-being and what serves the happiness in you.

For many of us self love is hard to manifest. In a world driven by the desire to excel, do everything right, do everything, and on top of that be perfect in all aspects of what we are doing we are often way to hard on ourselves. If we can’t hit our idea of perfect than we beat ourselves up.

For today, I want to challenge you to find self love by incorporating a daily self love challenge. With this self love challenge the goal is to give you a chance each day to pause and reflect on yourself, the acts of self love and compassion you give yourself, and remind yourself of the greatness that is already in you.

So here is my challenge for you:

First, come up with a positive mantra or even just a favorite mantra that helps you bring yourself back towards positive or strength whenever you are feeling down. Type or write it out and post it around the house or office so that you can be reminded of it on a regular basis. Below is a little video to help guide you in creating that mantra.

The second part of this challenge is to spend some time each day reflecting on the “good” in your life. Find a quiet space where you can sit and reflect quietly by yourself for 5-10 minutes on the questions and topics below. You do not need to spend a ton of time if you don’t have it but that few minutes can make a difference. Now if you want you can grab a pen and paper (I’m old school and like to do it this way) or just sit and reflect in your head if that is more your style.

  1. What is the most loving thing you did for yourself today?

  2. What is the best thing that happened today?

  3. What did you learn today?

  4. Write down one positive word about yourself for today.

  5. What am I thankful for today?

  6. What will I focus on for tomorrow?

The goal of this challenge…. do this once a day for 21 days.

At the end of the 21 days look back and ask yourself how far you’ve come and remind yourself of the fact that each day you were able to find a small amount of joy in yourself. Because, you are enough. You are the best version of yourself if you will allow yourself to be that version.

CHEERS!
